History and Educational aims of Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music
Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music is an institute of higher education which offers two performing arts majors: Drama and Music. Our educational services across these majors are focused on developing the people and talents who will influence the on-going development of the arts. Our mission statements are to 'Train people to contribute to the creation and development of art culture' and 'Cultivate people who can utilize their originality'.We pride ourselves on our small classes and the respect we afford each student as an individual as we help them acquire autonomy.
History of Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music
1964 | Toho Gakuen College established. Department of Liberal Arts and Department of Music opened. |

1966 | Department of Music closed. Music and Drama courses opened within the Department of Arts. |
2003 | Yukio Ninagawa became College president. |
2004 | Name changed to Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music. Stage Production Course newly opened. |
2005 | Department of Liberal Arts was closed. |
2010 | Terufumi Koshimitsu became College president. |
2014 | Stage Production Course was closed. |
